Cape Town is right over there!

I simply love Africa – a continent that represents many things and has a lot of culture.

Cape Town, at South Africa, is full of charm starting with its exuberant landscape. The city is colorful and happy!

Also has beautiful and breathtaking roads and as a bonus point Cape Town is very close to the Cape of Good Hope, the dividing point between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, that has a huge importance on the history of navigators (search about Bartolomeu Dias and Vasco da Gama – two Portuguese explorers and their adventure on the route to India).

I have one important tip to you: don’t go to South Africa before read about Apartheid – the policy of segregation and discrimination. This policy intended to block any kind of relationship between “different” people (not white) and limiting their rights (political, economic and social). It existed from 1948 to 1994. Yes, you read right: 1994! This shame was over thanks for efforts from people like Nelson Mandela who led, from a beautiful and sensitive, way the anti-apartheid movement. He spent 27 year in jail and became the first black President of South Africa.

Why am I sharing that? Because South Africa has smell of freedom. When we learn about its history we understand the reasons. More than 50% of the live population in South Africa knows what means be treated different just due to the color of their skin. They lived it some years ago. Can you imagine how happy these people are when enjoying their rights? This is so exiting!

Doesn’t matter how cool a place can be, nothing like its history to make everything even better. Cape Town is a good example of that.

I’m leaving you with a picture of Nelson Mandela, such a special person! And, as you know, feel free to share the experience you had in Cape Town 🙂

xoxo
